Born a midwest girl who loves animals and wound up in Arizona via San Francisco. I've been an artist all my life and love working with people, so studying marketing and design seemed like the best way to find my path.
I am a life-long learner that found a way to combine my love for marketing and passion for design in one amazing place; San Francisco. My formal education started at Phoenix College, where I spend two years working my butt off to earn a scholarship to the University of San Francisco (USF) where I studied Marketing. My love for design, communication and drawing led me to also earn a degree in Advertising Design from The Academy of Art in San Francisco. The co-op program with the two schools was a perfect combination for someone who embraces the business and creative side. I guess using both sides of my brain worked out.
My path has always put me in the position of wearing many hats – marketing assistant for a national retail portrait studio with over 300 studios, to doing design, marketing and sales for a small POP (point-of-purchase) display company in the San Francisco Bay Area.
With 5 years of experience under my belt I moved back to the Valley of the Sun and honed my advertising design skills for a boutique ad agency where I was the senior designer and team leader for companies in pharmaceutical, real-estate, manufacturing, auto-racing and non-profits. Being drafted to another boutique design firm was exciting as I brought my knowledge for printing, production and good design to a small team that focused on high-end real-estate and golf. Stint at freelance and back to marketing and design for the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Public Art and Performing Arts. Lending my talents to marketing, curatorial and education departments was huge breath of fresh air as a creative mind.
On to one more ad agency after the market crash for a year of juggling and growth and boom I'm on my own helping small companies build amazing campaigns, brands and collateral. I've been around the block and still love learning.
Along my path, I've learned to juggle in my own circus. I'm a mom of two now teenage boys and three dogs. I'm passionate about making time to watch my boys play competitive sports, hiking, cooking and riding horses. I throw a bit of yoga in for good measure.
Foremost, I'm a designer who can make it happen and loves a challenge. I pride myself on playing well with others and bringing my positive attitude and tenacious spirit with me daily.
